Nigerianske Lookman Mashood

Nigerian dreamer, Lookman Mashood left his homeland for a life abroad in 1996, eventually working his way into the culinary arts and master carpentry. His first job was at a local “hole in the wall” Nigerian pepper soup joint. Ever since those days he’s been dreaming big, imagining a restaurant that showcases the sensual flavor and feel of traditional Nigerian cooking in a correspondingly elegant environment. In the spring of 2010 he realized this dream when he, along with his partner and girlfriend, opened Buka restaurant in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn.
